This Black Widow spider has been hand embroidered in the stumpwork fashion: her body is slightly raised, giving her a realistic look. She rests in an oval of cotton printed with a copper metallic grid, backed with off-white felt, the edge embroidered in black cordonnet threads, finished with tiny black seed beads. Brooch clasp sewn onto the back.
